Motorcycle Company Debuts E-bikes at Eurobike
TAICHUNG, Taiwan – Making its debut at Eurobike this year is the Taiwanese Kwang Yang Motor Company (KYMCO) presenting their first e-bikes and S-pedelecs for the European market.
KYMCO thoroughly prepared the market introduction. In the January/February issue of Bike Europe KYMCO showed their Klever e-bike prototype to the market. KYMCO also founded a subsidiary company Klever Mobility Inc. in order to approach the e-bike market bicycle-like. This was followed with the set-up of Klever Mobility Europe GmbH to get in direct contact with the market and to provide direct support.
The Klever e-bike will be available in a 25 km/h and 45 km/h speed pedelec versions. Both are powered by the company’s in-house developed system.
KYMCO Managing Director Victor Ko stipulated in Bike Europe’s January/February edition that the company has been producing and selling e-scooters since 1998. “Our engineers know which way an electric motor, and a battery too, has to perform. What really matters is to think from the whole vehicle perspective and develop the bike and power system accordingly, and integrate them seamlessly”, said Victor Ko.
