New General Manager for Dutch AGU
ALKMAAR, the Netherlands – Björn Jeurissen has been appointed as the new general manager of AGU Holding and AGU as of January 1, 2017. In the past 10 months AGU owner Peter van den Kommer acted as interim manager before handing over this position to Jeurissen.
As interim manager Van den Kommer built a strong management team to work on the future of the company. “The position of general manager was the last vacant one which is now fulfilled with the arrival of Björn,” explains Van den Kommer. “Everything is now in place to work towards a bright future of our company.” AGU is one of the biggest importer and wholesaler in the Benelux bicycle sector.
Create customer value
The 40-year old Björn Jeurissen completed a law degree at the University of Maastricht. He started his career in 2001 at the Dutch telecom provider KPN where he held various senior management positions. He served among them as Chief Marketing Officer and was responsible for all marketing activities in the business to business market.
In 2013 he moved to the M7 Group and was responsible for Canal Digital and Online.nl. “In multiple positions Björn has proven to be able to create customer value and as such also for the organization he was working for,” said Peter van den Kommer.
New impetus for AGU
AGU furthers with, “In order to give new impetus to the company, he will apply his knowledge of and the impact of shifting customer behaviour and the changing distribution landscape. In addition he will certainly not lose sight of the importance of the existing retail channel, but search for the optimum mix. The new management team will provide an excellent base to develop the business of AGU BV and its subsidiaries Fast Forward Wheels, Hesling Products and Jacobsons.
