Japanse Nidec Copal Expands to Global E-MTB Market
KYOTO, Japan – After a successful experience of providing e-bike systems in Japan for more than 5 years, the electronic motor manufacturer Nidec Copal recently made its entrance on the European market. Nidec’s products for a smart e-bike will be on display at Eurobike.
With more than 40 years of history in developing and manufacturing brushless DC motors, Nidec Copal has now accumulated its know-how to create an e-bike system. Early 2017 the company launched the EPAB-001, a 25 km/h mid-motor system, its first model for the global market.
The efficient high power motor unit with a maximum 95 Nm at 700 W and 90% efficiency is the heart of the EPAB-001. It comes with customizable firmware, triaxial angle sensor, detecting both bicycle riding uphill and falling over, quad sensor and control technologies, providing a natural riding feeling in any road conditions, superior power and torque performance.
In combination with a high safety designed battery, a selectable cycle computer and user-friendly software makes it for Nidec Copal a great fit for e-MTB.
New 45 km/h motor
At Eurobike 2017 Nidec Copal also presents its new 45 km/h motor, combining an increased output of up to 770 W with the same size as EPAB-001 as well as a brand new concept motor, targeting e-road, e-folding and e-small wheel. It is just 15.6 cm wide and 10 cm high. The almost invisible construction is paving the way to new e-bike applications.
Nidec eBike system can be found at Eurobike 2017 booth A6-213.
