Pinarello Launches Electronic Road Suspension
TREVISO, Italy – In close cooperation with HiRide, Pinarello introduces the electronic version of its Dogma Suspension System, the first smart suspension for road bikes which now features on the new Dogma K10S Disk.
The design of the Dogma K10S Disk maintains the new geometry of Dogma K10, including the open HT angle and the longer rear stays with Flex Stays technology. The innovative suspension, as well as the control system and the user interface is fully integrated.
Real time locking and unlocking the suspension
The eDSS 2.0 interface is positioned close to the Shimano Di2 controller, allowing to control and monitor the system status, and connectivity thanks to its Bluetooth LE and Ant+. According to Pinarello, “the Electronic Dogma Suspension System reads the road and understands the bicycle dynamics, adapting the frame in any situation, from perfect roads to cobblestones, with real time locking and unlocking the suspension.”
Sensors system and algorithms
During the ride a sensors system measures the bike’s dynamic behaviour while sophisticated algorithms make the suspension adapt to the conditions. A Smart Battery Pack inside the frame, controls the suspension electronically, locking and unlocking it automatically based on the characteristics of the road. A human-machine interface is situated in the down tube to allow the rider to control the suspension locking system manually as well.
