Cycling Industry Club Gets Advisory Board

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Last Tuesday the very first Advisory Board meeting of the Cycling Industry Club (CIC) was held in Brussels. This Board, that consist of members of the bicycle sector’s lobby club, is to bring focussed industry input into the ECF’s advocacy strategies that are part funded by the Club.

The initial meeting of Cycling Industry Club Advisory Board had representatives from six companies covering the size and geographical mix of Club members . They were Tony Grimaldi (President Cycleurope), Jeroen Snijders Blok (COO Accell Group), Raymond Gense (Director Future Technology & Public Affairs PON Bicycle Group), Paul Stratta (CEO Gocycle), Marcus Vyvyan, Asia Pacific Manager, WTB Inc.) and Randy Neufeld (Director SRAM Cycling Fund).
At the first meeting, which took place at the Brussels office of the European Cyclists’ Federation, the terms of reference and membership criteria for the Advisory Board were discussed as well as other numerous topics. In particular the focus of the activities of the Cycling Industry Club were debated; in particular EU funds, EU research, developing cycling jobs and the European Masterplan for Cycling were selected as ones that CIC is to get heavily involved in. The six Advisory Board members also appointed Tony Grimaldi Chairman and Raymond Gense as Vice Chairman .
