Merger of Dutch Retail Organizations Brings Positive Momentum
AMERSFOORT, the Netherlands – The merger of the Dutch retail organizations Bike Totaal and Biretco in spring 2014 brings a positive momentum. The newly created Dynamo Retail Group saw the number of affiliated stores increase by 18 to 772 in the first half of 2015.
For Dynamo Retail Group, the second biggest dealer cooperative operating in Europe, the growth in the number of affiliated stores is a confirmation of the new strategy. “We have put in a lot effort to professionalize our role as a retail service organization for our members”, says Maarten de Vos, general manager of the Dynamo Retail Group. “It gives a lot of confidence to see how our ideas are picked up by the industry.”
“Also for the second half of 2015, the Dynamo Retail Group is expected to grow, as they have reached an agreement to join the organization by January 1, 2016 with six stores. These companies are currently member of another retail service organization,” says Maarten de Vos.
Long term strategy
One of the new members is Hans Bloemendal in Rijssen, the Netherlands. “It was a long term decision for us to switch to the Bike Totaal, one of the retail labels of Dynamo Retail Group. We were looking for an organization that can give us more certainty in the future. The reason we have chosen Bike Total is that this retail label can offer us professional support.”
“In addition we preferred to be part of Dynamo Bike Total Retail Group, a reliable organization with nearly 800 affiliated stores. Such a large group of retailers has a strong position on the market and towards the suppliers. I see this as a big advantage, especially for the future,” explains Hans Bloemendal.
The Dynamo Retail Group is operating several store formats: Bike Totaal, Profile ‘de Fietsspecialist’ (bike specialist), Fietswereld (Bikeworld) and also the Biretco Buying Group (BBG). The Dynamo Retail Group has affiliated bike stores in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
