Major Changes for 2013 International Bicycle Design Competition

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Every year the final round of the International Bicycle Design Competition (IBDC) is taking place during the Taipei International Cycle Show. The 2013 round of this prestigious competition will be staged as a project organized by iF Design Talents GmbH for the first time.

Up to this year the International Bicycle Design Competition was organized by Taiwan’s Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC). For the 2013 competition this changed. The IBDC will in future be organized by the same company that is also responsible for the Eurobike Award competion as well as (since this year) the Taipei Interntaional Cycle Show Awards.

Separate evaluation
In a press release from iF Design the company says: “For the first time, the entries submitted by students and those submitted by young and talented designers will be evaluated separately from one another – this is a good and important step in the direction of providing for a more transparent, more fair comparison.

Deadline for entries
“Together with Taiwan’s Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC), we hope to receive innovative, exciting, inspiring and amazing entries in this competition. Starting in May and up until 15 September, students and young designers from all the different disciplines are invited to enter their concepts and designs in the IBDC 2013 – we look forward to receiving lots of entries!” More at http://www.ifdesign.de/talents_IBDC_e
