Specialized Develops On-Line Training Program for IBDs
MANCHESTER, UK – To help increase IBD sales and improve performance on the shop floor Specialized’s retail educator Donny Perry partnered with online learning innovator Myagi to create a completely web based training program.
The ‘Leading Out Retail’ training content includes 11 training videos and quizzes that are readily available and easily via Myagi. “Training retail staff has always been the biggest ongoing challenge for brands and retailers alike,” says Donny Perry in a press release published by Myagi. “This goes especially for staff at IBDs which require more in depth product knowledge and increased brand awareness, while the pressure upon the performance of sales is increased.”
‘Leading out retail’
Donny Perry has written the book ‘Leading Out Retail: A creative look at bicycle retail and what all retailers can learn from it’. Worldwide he has sold over 4000 copies and it has become a retail bible. For Perry, the motivation for partnering with Myagi is straightforward: “Myagi was launched in 2013 and many retailers I have spoken to enjoy using their platform for training and development. Myagi approached me and I was more than happy to help provide useful content to help motivate people working the sales floor and give managers the tools”.
Approach to retail
Simon Turner, co-founder and president of Myagi about the cooperation with Perry: “His fresh thinking appealed to our approach to retail. He has the ability to deliver insightful content that speaks to many of the issues IBDs are experiencing today. The Myagi platform has revolutionised the way brands and retailers can deliver learning and development training.
Specialized is not the first in the bicycle industry to partner with Myagi. Other well-known names who cooperated with the on-liner trainer are Orbea and Tifosi.
