Delivery Time of China-Made Bicycles Reduced Drastically
TIANJIN, China – The deployment of a new logistic service as well as a partnership between eBay and a major Chinese insurance company in Tianjin could affect the bicycle industry. The delivery time of China-made bicycles to the US ordered via e-Bay will be reduced by two-thirds to three to five days.
This was stated in the China Daily by Wang Xiaowei, president of Power in Cloud (Tianjin) E-commerce Co Ltd, a Tianjin-based bicycle manufacturer. His company was selected as a test case to receive the new services from Sinosure. This major Chinese insurance firm partnered with eBay and trade service firms in Tianjin in order to reduce delivery times to overseas customers.
Warehouses in US, UK and Belgium
Sinosure offered them as Chinese sellers on eBay a credit insurance to help them build overseas warehouses so they can offer foreign consumers a better shopping experience. Since then, Wang Xiaowei said to have set up warehouses in the US, the United Kingdom and Belgium, with a total area of nearly 50,000 sq m. “Currently, American consumers who buy our bicycles on eBay receive their products within three to five days,” he claimed.
Chinese firms selling to overseas buyers
“Building warehouses in foreign countries will enable Chinese firms to sell to overseas buyers items that can’t be transported instantly,” said Lin Yizhang, CEO of eBay Greater China. “It will also help Chinese products reach more countries in a much shorter time.”
