Asiabike Is Stand-Alone Show in 2013
After two successful editions as part of the Outdoor Asia, the next Asia Bike will take place as a separate event in September 2013. As a ‘small Eurobike’ Asia Bike is the first trade show focused on sports and luxury bikes, bike wear and accessories in China.
The 2nd Asia Bike was held in Nanjing, China two weeks ago; from July 26 to 29. “We got high quality exhibitors from 14 countries this year”, said Knut Jaeger, Asia Bike consultant.
The size of the show nearly doubled related to the 2011 edition. Altogether 238 exhibitors (138 in 2011) hired 24,000 square meter fairground (12,000 in 2011) and attracted 10,481 trade visitors during the four-day exhibition period and 3,751 bike fans on the two public days.
‘Show in Show’ program
Asia Bike targets the top segment in the markt. The ‘Show in the Show’ program represents the most expensive bicycles, and became a magnet for visitors and media. Among all the highlights were a number of unique bicycles such as Tour de France winner Pinarello, BMC, Specialized, Time, Bergamont, Focus, Corratec, Pedelecs of Smart, the foldable King Ludwig Rad from Bavaria. The number one in price was the Pearson bike from New Zealand which costs 35,000 euro. For such money you still have to wait one or two years for delivery.
The dates of the third Asia Bike as stand-alone event have been confirmed, at Nanjing International Expo Center from September 19 to 22, 2013. Messe Friedrichshafen will continue to support Asia Bike.
