ZEG Shows E-Bikes at IAA; World’s Biggest Car Show
FRANKFURT, Germany – Germany’s and Europe’s biggest dealer cooperative ZEG is presenting its 2014 e-bike Bulls range at the largest automobile show in the world, the IAA which is taking place right now in Frankfurt.
“The IAA is a global platform for the presentation of electric mobility concepts. In the framework of the show the 3rd edition of the Electric Mobility Congress is taking place today,” explains a ZEG spokesman at the show. “When it comes to e-mobility concepts, the bicycle industry is ahead of the automotive sector. We want to show the developments in e-bikes to the e-mobility industry.”
Leading car brands show bikes
The e-bike boom, currently dominating the bicycle sector, is also felt at the car show. All leading brands have bicycles on displays at their booths. Many of the presented models are sports bikes and come with a CO² emissions-free electric motor.
Especially the German car brands are on the forefront when it comes to bicycles: BMW shows its sporty electric bike in chic white with blue accents, Smart presents its well-known pedelec and Mercedes-Benz developed a kids bike as a gift. But also other brands like Peugeot, Lancia, Abarth and Alfa Romeo present bicycles at their IAA booths to underline their environmental friendly image.
The IAA is taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from September 12 -22.
