EU Conference on Cycling Safety
BRUSSEL, Belgium – During the European Mobility Week the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) will organize a conference on cycling safety as part of the ‘Bike-Pal’ project.
The conference will take place on 22 September 2014 in Brussels and the event is co-organised with ‘Bruxelles Mobilité’. Bianca Debaets, Belgium State Secretary for Road Safety confirmed her attendance.
Awareness-raising to policymakers
Bike-Pal is a pan-European project that aims to improve cycling safety through information and awareness-raising to policymakers and through outreach to university students. The project has produced a cycling safety ranking of European countries, a scientific review of cycling safety policies, and an accessible manual for all cyclists.
The conference on cycling safety, bringing together experts from the EU institutions, cycling policy specialists and other key stakeholders from across Europe is open for registration. Though the number of places is limited, the registration is free.
