Cycling Experts and Industry Meet at Velo-city Global 2016 In Taipei
TAIPEI, Taiwan – The 2016 edition of Velo-city Global in Taipei will host two Industry Days where insiders such as Anthony Lo from Giant and John Burke from Trek will discuss the economics of cycling, the role of advocacy in growing the market and why we need successful policies to increase sales for everyone.
The two Industry days on will include sessions on design, e-technology, economics and future trends for cities. On February 29 Velo-city will emphasize the connection with industry and economics, offering 3 plenary sessions and 10 parallel sessions. In the first plenary sessions Mark Major, Urban Mobility Expert, Armin Landgraf, Director of Pon Bicycle Group and Shih-chao Cho, Taiwan’s Deputy Minister of Ministry Of Economic Affairs will discuss the impacts of cycling for industry, for retail, for business, for health, and for infrastructure investment.
On March 1, Antony Lo, Chairman of Taiwan Bicycle Association, John Burke, President of Trek and Robbert de Kock, Secretary General of World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry(WFSGI) will discuss the role of the cycling industry and its business ecosystem and its contribution to economic growth.
Finally Han Wu, CEO, Design Capital 2016, Monica Kuo, Chair of Department and Graduate Institute of Landscape Architecture, Chinese Culture University, Joshua Hon, Founder and Team Captain of Tern and Claus Fleischer, CEO, Bosch eBike Systems will talk over how design creates a safe and friendly cycling environment. How does one design the infrastructure, bicycles and peripheral products?
The Industry Days will include a Gala dinner and other social events to mingle with a number of industry representatives, cities, transport experts and advocates from around the globe.
