Competition Between Taichung Bike Week And Taipei Cycle Show Enters New Phase
TAICHUNG, Taiwan – Last October it already became clear that the competition between the Taichung Bike Week and the Taipei Cycle Show was intensifying. The rescheduling of the Taipei Cycle Show 2018 dates to end October, beginning November caused that. Now that Taichung Bike Week has announced its 2018 dates, it becomes clear that the competition between the two Taiwan events is entering a new phase.
Taichung Bike Week in 2018 takes place from 16 – 19 October, as usual in various hotels. Hotels like the Splendor in Taichung are already accepting bookings for the event for which more space is allocated allowing for an extra 20 standard (3x3m²) booths. With that the hotels in Taichung obviously count on a continued success of the OEM event. However, compared to previous years the circumstances under which Taichung Bike Week is taking place next year are different, to say the least. In particular as its dates are conflicting with those of the Taipei Cycle Show in 2018.
Taichung Bike Week and Taipei Cycle 11 days apart
The Taipei Cycle Show in 2018 takes place from 31 October – 3 November. The closing of the Taichung event is 11 days apart from the start of Taipei Cycle. Too long for OEM representatives to stay in Taiwan in order to visit both events. Also travelling to both events from Europe or the US is too time consuming en too costly. It means that choices have to be made and competition between the two events is intensifying.
