For different reasons both companies had been looking for partnerships. “TransArt wanted to get in closer contact with potential and existing customers in Europe,” explained Melanie Hung. “And we were looking for more capacity. Taking-over Doublepress gave us the best possible start in Europe we could image.”
“We were looking for a partner to guarantee the future our family business,” said Doublepress General Manager Henk Scholten. “We could fulfill all TransArt’s needs in the European market while their participation in Doublepress secures our future.”
Expanding production in the Netherlands
According to Henk Scholten, “only a handful of screen print makers are left today in Europe and we are one the leading suppliers. Some 85-90 percent of our business is generated by the bicycle industry.” Doublepress’ operation in the Dutch town Kampen will be expanded and additional people will be hired.
TransArt Graphics was founded in 1973 and is focused on the screen print industry, mainly serving the bicycle and sporting goods industry. The whole Transart Group operates six factories, located in different countries – Taiwan, China, Vietnam and the Netherlands. In total Transart employs more than 800 people. No doubt, Transart is a well-known decal maker for bicycles worldwide and significantly contributed to the appearance of bicycle for many sounding brands.
New product range
At Eurobike, the TransArt/Doublepress combination also launched a new range of products including leather look transfers in multiple colors as well as hologram transfers which look great on a matt finish.
