Decathlon Continues To Expand in Germany with Stores and Logistics Center

PLOCHINGEN, Germany – Increasing pressure by webshops on a sporting goods sector in Germany that’s already facing difficulties, make for tough market conditions. Various chain stores that also sell bikes and P&A like Sport Voswinkel, Sport Scheck or Karstadt Sports are restructuring and searching for a new and profitable future strategy. However, there’s one exception on this trend in Germany named Decathlon; the sporting goods retail giant. After opening 16 new outlets in 2019 the French company is now operating a network of 80 stores in Germany. At least ten more are planned for this year as well as a new logistics center.
