To achieve the goal of producing several thousand ‘Ono’ cargobike models per year, the new production will be further digitised and automated in the coming years.
“Step by step, we will further develop the assembly hall, build assembly lines, adapt work levels and connect the 10 work islands into a flowing system,” says Onomotion co-founder Philipp Kahle.
The Ono cargobike is a pedal assisted transporter (PAT) with a fully modular platform. It offers various interchangeable module-units. Designed with Tier 1 automotive parts and manufacturing process, the vehicle is emission-free with an easy-swap battery system. It offers a range of about 60 km. In 2020, the company received a €3 million cash-injection to support the European roll-out.
Guests from the industry and representatives of parcel service customers DPD, Hermes and UPS were at the official opening. Also present were various political representatives. With the new headquarters in Berlin, Onomotion is aiming to expand its position as one of Germany’s leading e-cargobike providers.
“In the age of digitalization and transformation, efficient networking is crucial. At our new location, we will bring together development, service, production and management more closely and coordinate growth precisely,” says Onomotion co-founder Beres Seelbach at the opening.
