The announcement earlier this year that Shimano would not exhibit was regarded as a decisive moment for the future of Eurobike. According to the Japanese component manufacturer, "the industry continues to evolve, and we are prioritising our customer- and consumer-focused events." Two and a half months later, the show reality has changed again and Shimano's European representation announced its presence in Frankfurt this June.

"Eurobike is an important trade show and we are committed to providing the newly-formed trade fair advisory board our support in developing the event,” explains Shimano Europe Marketing Director David Greenfield. “We will have a vital and more focused presence at Eurobike’s outdoor area this year." Shimano scaled back its presence and will be less prominent than in the past.

Contribution to the development of the show concept

“This decision is very important for Eurobike, of course,” said Philipp Ferger, vice president Consumer Goods Fairs at Messe Frankfurt, and manager of Eurobike organiser Fairnamic. “Shimano Europe doesn't just look at 2026, but also contributes to the conceptual development of the show.”

Besides Shimano Europe, Hefa Mahle Smart Bike Systems, Valeo Electrification, Panasonic, Gobao, Pinion, Roloff, Belgian Cycling Factory, Kubik, Tektro Europe, F.S.A., Deutsche Bahn Connect, Zweirad Union and Holland Mechanics have confirmed participation in the 2026 edition.

Dialogue needed

“Eurobike 2026 will be a trade fair of dialogue,” said Philipp Ferger, well aware that more needs to be done to get Eurobike back on track than just convincing the German industry. “It will be a fair perspective and a transformation, and I am pleased with the slight tailwind we are experiencing in the industry. Just like any show, Eurobike is a reflection of the market. It is our task as trade fair organiser to translate this into a presentation of as many world players in the value chain as possible.”

“Eurobike 2026 will take place in a more condensed form than the industry is used to, and will be spread out over three halls. The Sports and Performance areas will be located in hall 11.0, the Leisure and Ecomobility areas in hall 12.0 and the Global Sourcing area in hall 8. In addition to the halls, we also bring the outdoor area with numerous exhibitors.”

Global point of reference

"We try to speak with as many representatives of the industry as possible. The industry is undergoing transformation. This makes a leading trade fair like Eurobike all the more important, as it serves as a global point of reference and platform for exchange. Above all, Eurobike 2026 will also mark the communications starting point for the new leading-trade-fair concept developed together with the industry, which is set to launch in 2027," says Philipp Ferger, Managing Director of Fairnamic GmbH. "We are pleased that key players are already backing us this year by presenting their innovations."

Summit program

As part of the Business Days, thematic summits will take place to address key industry topics such as new materials and sustainable manufacturing, automation and AI, supply chains, and omnichannel and urban logistics. “We have a clear focus on the B2B visitors and proceed with a clear summit structure on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All presentations will be bundled by topic so visitors can plan their participation in the trade fair accordingly. Leading topics will be the Future Industries Summit, the Innovation Summit and the Sourcing Summit.
