One engineering philosophy
Although the Metron RS and SC families cover different positions within Vision portfolio, they are not separate projects developed independently, according to Correa: “All our wheel models are designed, produced, tested and hand-assembled internally. It means controlling each step of the supply chain while maintaining an high standard quality control of it.”
The Metron, SC and TC ranges share different rim and hub options, offering anyways the same spokes pattern (2:1). More specifically, the V-250 and V-650 hub models are built for J-Bend spokes (flanged hub) while the V-200/V-600/V-1000 models are built for direct-pull spokes.
Moreover, those hubs differ from an internal system point of view:
- V-200/V-250: featuring a 3-pawls hub system
- V-600/V-1000: featuring the own VISION Ratchet (PRS) system with 54 (for the V-600) or 72 (for the V-1000) points of engagement.
“This shared development process allows us to offer multiple performance levels without compromising the engineering standards behind each product,” Correa adds.
Uncompromising performance
At the top of the range sits Metron RS, the flagship platform developed for elite competition and professional racing. Available in 37, 45 and 60mm rim depths, the full carbon wheels combine aerodynamic efficiency with an internal rim width of up to 23mm, supporting today's wider road tyres while maintaining high-speed stability.
“At the heart of the system is the V-1000 PRS (Power Ratchet System) hub, featuring a 72-tooth ratchet mechanism with a 5° engagement angle and 6 sealed ceramic bearings,” says Correa. “Combined with direct-pull carbon spokes, the system delivers exceptional torsional stiffness, immediate power transfer and extremely low rolling resistance.”
Broader accessibility
Positioned immediately below Metron RS, the SC SL family brings many of Vision’s flagship technologies to a broader range of performance-oriented riders.
Correa explains: “The full carbon rims are available in 45 and 60mm profiles with a 23mm internal width and integrate Adaptive Reinforcement Technology (ART), which strategically reinforces spoke hole areas while reducing unnecessary material elsewhere. SC SL wheels feature the V-600 hub with a 54-tooth ratchet system, helical gearing and advanced weather-resistant sealing designed for consistent performance across varying environmental conditions.”
“The 2:1 spoke lacing pattern and bladed direct-pull spokes further improve lateral stiffness and power transfer while maintaining the reliability expected from wheels intended for high-mileage use,” he continues. “The result is a platform that delivers race-oriented performance while offering an attractive balance between technology, durability and value—making SC SL particularly relevant for specialist retailers and performance-focused OEM specifications.”
Versatility for today's evolving market
Modern road cycling increasingly overlaps with endurance riding, all-road exploration and fast gravel applications. The SC range has been developed with this evolution in mind. Available in 45, 48 and 60mm carbon configurations with internal widths ranging from 23 to 25mm, SC wheelsets prioritise versatility without abandoning aerodynamic performance.
“The SC 48 i25 exemplifies this approach,” further elaborates Correa. “Developed through CFD analysis of more than 300 rim profiles, it balances aerodynamic efficiency with the stability required by wider tyres, creating a wheel equally suited to endurance road riding and high-speed gravel applications. The V-200 hub platform, sealed cartridge bearings and optimized spoke architecture provide dependable performance while simplifying long-term maintenance—an important consideration for both retailers and end users.”

Supporting the product beyond the point of sale is equally important. Every Vision hub incorporates a laser-etched QR code that links directly to its dedicated exploded-view diagram and spare parts documentation.
