TAINAN, Taiwan - Taya Chains has continued to invest in the development of its chain technology in recent years and anticipated on the dominance of e-bikes on the market. The chain manufacturer is also expanding the use of its exclusive GST technology to include the e-bike series and bicycle parts such as screws, nut and axels to extend the corrosion resistance lifetime.
KRAKOW, Poland - As part of a long-term strategy, Polish battery manufacturer Green Cell has opened an e-bike battery plant near Krakow, Poland. With ambitions to assemble 50,000 e-bike batteries per year, the first products are already rolling of the assembly lines.
AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - In 2021, the Dutch mobility giant Pon Holdings achieved a turnover of no less than €8 billion with an operating profit of €559 million. Pon.Bike - and in particular its e-bikes - contributed no less than €1.3 billion to that turnover.
NUNSPEET, the Netherlands - Shimano Europe has announced that it intends to completely outsource its warehouse activities which are now based in Nunspeet, the Netherlands. In a statement the company says, 'the distribution centre in Nunspeet has outgrown its capacity'. A new service provider is yet to be determined, but the move could lead to a loss of up to 45 jobs.
PRZASNYSZ, Poland - As many as 86% of respondents in a recent survey have noticed the growing popularity of e-bikes on the streets in Poland and 84% admit that e-bikes can be a convenient way to get around the countryside. Commissioned by the Polish bike manufacturer Kross, the survey shows that sales of e-bikes have huge potential for growth like in other European markets.
MECHELEN, Belgium - Helmet manufacturer, Lazer, has gone back to the drawing board on impact absorption protection and developed a new patented new technology, KinetiCore. Inspired by the crumple zones in cars, the technology offers integrated rotational impact protection and provides what they call "next-level brain protection."
TAIPEI, Taiwan - The world's largest chain manufacturer, KMC has added an e-cargo bike chain to its portfolio. The Ecargo 1 chain, with a focus on strength and long life, "provides 50% higher strength than industry standards". On display at the Taipei Cycle show, it was also credited as a d&i award winner.
SUZHOU, China - E-bike battery manufacturer, Phylion, has received a new strategic investment of 950 million yuan (€135 million). The total financing round is expected to reach 1.5 billion yuan (€210 million), with which the company plans to accelerate its innovation in technology, products and business strategy to create more value for the lithium battery industry.
TAIWAN, Taipei - Despite being in production since the start of the corona pandemic, e-bike drive system manufacturer, Hyena, finally had the opportunity to present its new drive system at the Taipei Cycle show in 2022. The company offers whole system e-bike system for bikes in the city, trekking and road categories.
TAIPEI, Taiwan - Voltraware presented a demo of its charging pad for wireless e-bike charging during this year's Taipei Cycle show. The newcomer to the e-bike world, with a history in consumer electronics, aims to change the charging behaviour of e-bike users.
