BRUSSELS, Belgium - Cycling industry associations including CONEBI, Cycling Industries Europe and European Cyclist's Federation have launched a Women in Cycling Network and are calling for responses to a survey on women in cycling, as part of a drive to boost diversity in the cycling sector.

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - The good news for VanMoof is that they've secured a further round of investment to support their growing e-bike business. The latest US$40 million (€33.8 million) brings the total tally raised up to US$73 million (€61.8 million). The bad news is, this is crucially needed to tackle the 'growth problems' the company can't seem to shake off; notably bad customer service, supply issues and quality control.

TAOYUAN, Taiwan - Following a successful initial launch in the US, Taiwanese battery swapping and electric scooter company, Gogoro is bringing its Eeyo 1 e-bike offering to Europe. With distribution agreements in several European countries, the Eeyo 1 will be available in France beginning October 2. Gogoro hopes their "E-urban" concept will change the perception of an e-bike.

BARCELONA, Spain - Taiwanese bicycle component manufacturer, Glory Wheel, is to open up a facility in Barcelona after "seeing the need to service products and quickly deliver products to factories and offices in Europe". The company is now in the final stages of setting up the operation and plans to be fully running by the end of 2020.

HAIBACH, Germany - Battery manufacturer, E-bike Vision, which started in 2011 with the production of replacement batteries for Panasonic has been renamed to Akku Vision. A growing portfolio outside of the e-bike segment has called for the change.

OBERWANGEN, Switzerland - When Stromer launched the ST2 in 2014, it was the first-ever fully connected Speed Pedelec. With the completely redesigned ST2, Stromer is adding extra power and a carbon belt drive in its next generation model which is set to hit the market in October.

Shenzhen, China - Lithium-ion battery charger developer and manufacturer, Modiary, have unveiled a new smart charger, MDA310. The company claims the product can charge three times faster than ordinary chargers and the built-in software allows for an "intelligent control of the whole charging process".

KOBLENZ, Germany - Bicycle manufacturer, Canyon, has teamed up with the Technical University of Aachen, Germany to design a new form of urban transportation. After two years in the making, they claim the 'Future mobility concept', is a "revolutionary alternative to both the automobile and the bicycle."

POZZOLEONE, Italy - The Selle Royal Group (SRG) has announced the passing of long-time colleague, Andrea Meneghelli, who died suddenly last Wednesday of natural causes. At only 49 years old, he passed away while riding his bike near his home in Dolo, Italy.

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Designers, manufacturers and retailers in bicycle-related industries are now invited to submit their latest research and development results for the Taipei Cycle d&i awards 2021. Registrations are welcome until 14 December 2020 and the winners will be announced at next year's Taipei Cycle show which runs from 3-6 March 2021. open for entries
