PARIS, France - Angell, the bike project launched by Marc Simoncini and Jules Trecco in 2018, has partnered with household appliance manufacturer, Groupe SEB, in an exclusive arrangement. The group will be responsible for the industrial development and production of Angell smart bikes at its long-standing Is-sur-Tille plant in Burgundy, France. Groupe SEB is also supporting the project by acquiring a stake in Zebra, the company that produces and markets Angell, through its SEB Alliance investment vehicle.

MUNICH, Germany - ADAC, Germany's automotive and mobility club, and the largest in Europe with 21 million members, has partnered with the start-up Rydies to launch a monthly e-mobility subscription service called e-Ride. The service will offer e-bikes and e-mopeds for use throughout Germany.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - As Covid-19 lockdown measures slowly begin to ease, a new look is being taken at mobility solutions across Europe. EU Member States have adopted several measures to increase cycling through the improvement of public infrastructure as well as fiscal and financial incentives.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany - The annual Eurobike Award will deploy a mix of analogue and digital tools this year, the show organisers have announced. The award process has been adapted in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has also seen the physical show date of Eurobike move to November. The digital award ceremony and start-up pitch will now take place on 2nd September a couple of months prior to the physical event.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - With coronavirus having a positive knock-on effect for cycling and bicycle purchases, Cambodia has also seen an upsurge in bicycle exports in the beginning of this year. According to Cambodia's Chamber of Commerce, "the country exported almost half a million bicycles to the EU, worth about 109 million euro in the first quarter of the year, which is over 9 million euro more than the same period last year."

On May 15th, TAITRA launched online 2D and VR exhibitions showcasing the latest cycling and sporting goods products.

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - Dutch e-bike producer, VanMoof, has secured a 12.5 million euro investment from one of Europe's leading venture capital firms Balderton Capital and assembly partner SINBON Electronics. The funds will support the brand's international expansion as it scales up to meet increased demand. The investment follows the successful launch of the new electric VanMoof S3 and X3 bikes.
