    Taiwan's e-bike export growth still on track

    TAIPEI, Taiwan - It is regarded as one of the main challenges for e-bike and bicycle assemblers today, having all components in stock in time to deliver a complete bike. Still Taiwan's e-bike and bicycle assemblers managed to generate double digit growth volumes last year.

    IDbike seeks €2 million investment to expand production volume

    RIEL, the Netherlands - Torque sensor developer, IDbike has ambitious plans to produce significantly more volume and become an OEM supplier of complete drive systems for e-bikes. To facilitate this the company is now looking for external investors to the value of €2 million.

    Taipei Cycle awards follow the electrification trend

    TAIPEI, Taiwan - At the Taipei Cycle 2022 kick-off event yesterday in Taipei, the winners of the annual design and innovations awards were revealed. A total of 33 entries were awarded of which 4 in the category 'e-bikes and drive units'. The six Gold Awards will be unveiled on the first day of Taipei International Cycle Show on 9 March 2022.

    EU decision opens up market for generator driven or Series Hybrid e-bikes

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Commission has decided to classify e-bikes powered via a generator and not driven via a chain as regular 25 km/h and 250W e-bikes excluded from Regulation 168/2013 following Article 2.2(h). Until now for these bikes type-approval in the L-category was required. This proved to be a legal bottleneck for technological development and successful market introductions.

    Expansion paves way for Rose Bikes to achieve double-digit sales growth

    BOCHOLT, Germany - German D2C bicycle supplier Rose Bikes GmbH closed its fiscal year 2020/21, with a sales increase of 8.5% compared to the previous year, totalling €148.7 million. For 2021/22, the company's ongoing expansion plans are said to be the backbone of achieving a two-digit sales increase.
