    Arcade Cycles ramps up production to meet rental bike demand

    LA-ROCHE-SUR-YON, France - Arcade Cycles is one of the biggest bike manufacturers in France with a production of 50,000 units (e-bikes included) per year. With a strong focus on rental bikes, the Covid-19 crisis has impacted Arcade Cycles' production, but the French manufacturer has succeeded in limiting the drop in activity and is now eyeing an increase of its turnover for the 2019-20 fiscal year as production ramps up.

    台灣轉電動自行車;歐盟27國自行車進口下滑15%

    比利時,布魯塞爾(Brussels)-相較歐盟電動自行車進口,常規自行車進口在今年1至5月大幅下滑。總進口量減少超過15%,從去年的2,577,256輛到今年的2,181,239輛。台灣因轉攻電動自行車而在出口自行車至歐盟的國家排名當中躍升前幾大輸出國,中國出口至歐盟的量也持續增加。

    Vélovak show falls victim to stricter COVID-19 rules in the Netherlands

    GORINCHEM, the Netherlands - Bicycle trade fair Vélovak, which was due to start next Sunday in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, has been postponed to September 19, 20 and 21, 2021. Reasoning is the regional introduction of 'code red' travel advice for Belgians and Germans, the tightened Corona measures across the country and the changed sentiment among exhibitors.

    KNOXVILLE, USA - The name LeMond keeps on roaming around in the industry. His attempts to build a road race brand were not sustainable, even after he sold it to Trek. In 2013 he already tried to restart the brand unsuccessfully. Today the LeMond brand is attempting to make a revival in an all new category.

    BRUSSELS, Belgium - Cycling industry associations including CONEBI, Cycling Industries Europe and European Cyclist's Federation have launched a Women in Cycling Network and are calling for responses to a survey on women in cycling, as part of a drive to boost diversity in the cycling sector.

    VanMoof channels latest funding into 'problem solving' support issues

    AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - The good news for VanMoof is that they've secured a further round of investment to support their growing e-bike business. The latest US$40 million (€33.8 million) brings the total tally raised up to US$73 million (€61.8 million). The bad news is, this is crucially needed to tackle the 'growth problems' the company can't seem to shake off; notably bad customer service, supply issues and quality control.

    Following a record result Canyon Bicycles sets future course

    KONSTANZ, Germany - D2C-supplier Canyon Bicycles GmbH ended the financial year 2019/2020 (September end) with a record sales turnover of €400 million, an increase of 30%. Company founder and CEO Roman Arnold believes that the time is now right to set the future course for further growth, including changes to top management and enticing new investment partners.

    Gogoro gets set to enter European e-bike market

    TAOYUAN, Taiwan - Following a successful initial launch in the US, Taiwanese battery swapping and electric scooter company, Gogoro is bringing its Eeyo 1 e-bike offering to Europe. With distribution agreements in several European countries, the Eeyo 1 will be available in France beginning October 2. Gogoro hopes their "E-urban" concept will change the perception of an e-bike.

    台灣電動自行車出口飆升21%

    Taipei Cycle confirms March 2021 dates: show goes off-line and on-line

    TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taipei Cycle has revealed the 2021 show will sit alongside a new virtual event next March. "This decision cements our position as a major event on the industry calendar to gain access to the latest developments from manufacturers for the aftermarket and OEMs, as well as a crucial gateway for business in the Asia-Pacific markets," said TAITRA President Walter Yeh earlier today at a press conference in Taipei.

    Taiwan's e-bike exports surge by 21%

    TAIPEI, Taiwan - In the first half of this year, Taiwan increased its e-bike exports to 410,000 units or 21%. Export values of e-bikes reached NT$523 billion, on par with regular bikes which stood at NT$583 billion.
