EAST KILBRIDE, Scotland - FreeFlow Technologies (FFT), a Scottish company who developed a lightweight, in-frame e-bike motor has secured £1.85 million in a second round of funding. The company, chaired by former Dyson CEO, will use the investment will support a move to a new headquarters and R&D facility.

MADRID, Spain - Jesus Freire, business development director of ECF has been named as the new secretary general and treasurer of the Spanish bicycle industry association, AMBE. He will succeed Carlos Núñez who stepped down earlier this year after seven and a half years in the role.

GELDERMALSEN, The Netherlands — Dutch Industrial design agency Vanderveer Designers is changing its name to Modyn as it embarks on a new path focused on mobility. The agency, responsible for designs for brands such as Gazelle, Quinny, VDL is now going to specialise in mobility design for the international market. 

EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands - Shimano has introduced new firmware to further support Urban e-bike riding. The firmware update, available since the end of October, includes the sportive mode which adjusts the rider's input torque to offer e-bikes with its E5000 drive units more power for everyday riding.

LETOHRAD, Czech Republic - Panasonic is preparing their GX motor series to be compatible with Gearsensor, the intelligent shifting sensor. OEMs will be able to incorporate the mid-motor shifting sensor for the MY 2022 GX series motors.

SCHWEINFURT, Germany - The environmental impact of micromobility products has gained importance over the last few years.
