TOKYO, Japan - After a 26.1% growth in bicycle components sales in 2014 Shimano Inc. reports that its net sales in this segment showed similar growth figures in the first half of 2015. Since 2013 Shimano's net sales in bike parts boomed over 50%!
SHENZHEN, China - The intelligent bicycle riding device manufacturer Livall has raised a combined fund of € 11.7 million in an opening round of a capital raising campaign. Venture capital firm ChinaEquity Group led the financing in the one year old start-up, headquartered in Shenzen.

This double digit plus was thanked to higher e-bike and sports bike sales. In particular e-bikes and Haibike's new e-Performance bikes are pushing Accell's turnover made with e-bikes to new highs.
DUBLIN, Ireland - Allegion Plc is taking over Axa Stenman Holding; the Dutch maker of home security products as well as (ring)locks and lights for bikes which the company is selling on an OE and AM basis. Allegion is a US dollar 2 billion company selling security products in almost 130 countries including Kryptonite branded locks.
WESTPORT, USA - Vista Qutdoor Inc. acquired Camelbak Products LLC from private equity firm Compass Diversified Holdings (Codi). The sale price for Camelbak will be based on a total enterprise value of 371.7 million euro. The divestiture is expected to close within the next month.
LONDON, UK - Demand for British-built bikes soared in the year when the first stage of the Tour de France was held in Yorkshire. According the latest statistics of the Office for National Statistics production and sales of UK made bicycles jumped almost 70%.
MOSS, Norway - Hamax is conducting a voluntary recall of its bicycle child seat Zenith Relax. The seat is a completely new 2015 model and has only been available since the beginning of April.
HEERENVEEN, the Netherlands - In the first half of 2015 Accell Group booked an operating profit of € 49.1 million, an increase of 29% from the € 38.2 million recorded in the first half of 2014. Net profit was up 21% at €31.9 million from € 26.3 million in the first half of 2014 while turnover was up 13% at € 537.8 million. The organic increase in net turnover came in at 11%, which was mainly the result of of higher sales of e-bikes and sports bicycles in the higher segment.
LAKE FOREST, USA - Tenneco Inc. announces its intention to discontinue its Marzocchi Mountainbike and motorcycle fork suspension business and to liquidate its Marzocchi operations. According to Marzocchi's (Ride Performance Europe) OE sales manager Maarten Maes production is to continue to the end of this year and take-over discussions already started.
