WILTON, USA - Dorel Sports, a segment of Dorel Industries named Russell Merry Senior Vice President & General Manager North America and the UK, Cycling Sports Group. In this new role, Russell will have leadership of the Cycling Sports Group North America business. Whether this appointment is related to Dorel Sports' declining sales in Europe is not noted in the Dorel statement.

The new working group is to take on changing UCI's 3:1 rule and the 6.8kg weight limit for road bikes in close collaboration with the UCI.
