ALMERE, Netherlands - Last Friday Gazelle, Derby, BBB and Cervélo owner Pon Holdings announced to have acquired Santa Cruz Bicycles, the California-based high-end MTB maker. This take-over comes only a few months after Pon bought BBB Cycling; a major worldwide operating P&A importer and distributor.

GRENCHEN, Switzerland - Next to its e-bike brand Stromer BMC Group is also divesting Bergamont. As part of a new brand strategy, on which Bike Europe interviewed BMC's CEO Erwin Steinmann in its May 2015 edition, the Swiss bike maker has announced to sell its German Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH to competitor and countryman Scott Sports SA. The deal was finalized at the end of June.

APELDOORN, the Netherlands - For the rapidly growing mid-motor e-bike category, Accell Group developed its own system. For its existing front and rear wheel hub motors Accell Group partners with a factory in China. However for the production of its mid-motor system the company looked for another motor manufacturer and found one in Japan.
