MUNICH, Germany (17 February 2000)–On 8 February Swiss functional (under)wear and bikewear supplier Odlo International AG acquired the German mountainwear company Gentic and the Norwegian technical wear company Bona Ratio Sport A/S (BRS).
Gentic was founded in 1987 and had a 1999 turnover of DEM8.5 million (US$403.3mn). BRS carries Xcountry ski champ Björn Daehli’s technical Xcountry wear label BJ. Odlo will continue to work close with founder Daehli.
At this year’s Winter Ispo Odlo CEO Odd Roar Lofterod announced that the acquisitions included several reorganization measures. A new umbrella holding was founded, ORL Holding AG, which will be located at Odlo International AG’s headquarters in Hünenberg, Switzerland. Odlo International AG, Gentic, BRS and Trisport (the group’s marketing tool) are 100% subsidiaries of the new ORL Holding. Other subsidiaries include Odlo Switzerland, Odlo Germany, Odlo France and Odlo Portugal. Odlo works with agencies in other countries.
According to Lofterod, “geographical growth will be sustained with the
motto: ‘Odlo – go global’.”
Odlo International’s 1999 turnover was CHF112 million (US$68.4mn). (JB)
