COPENHAGEN, Denmark (16 June 2000)–On 6 June our Scandinavian correspondent Chris Hummelshoj was hit by a car as he was riding his bicycle across the street. We received a telephone call this morning from Chris’ father in law
in Copenhagen. Chris died upon impact. It is still unclear as to what precisely happened. The funeral took place last Saturday. Chris was 33 years of age and worked as a freelance journalist in Denmark. He leaves behind a 31-year-old wife and two daughters, ages six and two. We wish the Hummelshoj family much strength in dealing with their loss. (JW)
