WELLEN, Belgium (24 July 2000) — US bike maker GT has entered into a partnership with Kenwood Communications Corporation of Suwanee, Georgia as their exclusive radio communications supplier. Kenwood will be supplying Team GT with state of the art two-way radios and equipment for communication at mountain bike events between staff members, riders and their coaches during the races.
“We are very excited to be involved with a top notch organization like Team
GT,” said Tom Wineland, president of Kenwood Communications, in a recent press release. The team will primarily be using Kenwood’s UBZ-LH14 FreeTalk and TK3101K FreeTalk XL model radios. According to the release, Team GT is currently the number one ranked downhill team in the world and has come away with the men’s downhill victory in the two most recent World Cup events. In cross-country the team is ranked number two and will be represented by six riders from six different countries in the Sydney Olympic Games. (JW)
