CESENA, Italy (7 November) — According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, cyclists Marco Pantani caused major havoc this weekend in the Italian city of Cesena. On his way to renew his passport, Gazzetta reports that Pantani managed to damage eight vehicles. Pantani first ran into two parked cars, then crossed the street and drove against the flow of traffic. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming car he crashed into a center divider. His jeep then ricocheted into another car before flipping over. Fortunately for the former winner of the Giro and the Tour, he wasn’t injured. It was his fourth car accident in a year’s time. (JW)
