BEIJING, China (November 10th) – All electric bicycles have to disappear from the Beijing streets before December 31st, 2005. That is the deadline set by the officials for a city that has more than 10,000 electric bikes on it’s roads…While Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and Tianjin have lifted their ban on electric bikes, Beijing still wants to phase out the vehicles. Registration has been already stopped on August 31st, 2003.
