CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, Netherlands (Sep 13) – Directors and former owners of wholesaler Joh. F. Smits, brothers Jan and Leo Hordijk, will leave the company by the end of October. Differences of opinion between them and major stockholder, Kroymans are the underlying reason. This move will end an involvement in Smits of the Hordijk family after 40 years. This started in 1963, when Teun Hordijk took over Smits – but kept the original name. The company was sold to Kroymans, importer for Jaguar, Ferrari and Kia cars, in 2000. The brothers Hordijk reacted on the decision: “it’s difficult for us, a company like this feels almost like family”
They would not go into details on the reasons for this move.
