HCM CITY, Vietnam (Oct 27) – Vietnam’s exports to France are likely to amount to € 1 billion Euro this year, doubling last year’s figure, according to sources from the Europe Department in Vietnamese Ministry of Trade. The figure, once achieved, will be a record for bilateral trade between Vietnam and France so far.Exports of a number of staples have so far this year increased dramatically, including electrical and electronic products, up 234% compared to last year’s corresponding figure, registering a value of € 32 million. Aquatic products were up 132% and posted € 24.5 million, and bicycle and spare parts were up 498% with an earning of € 13.8 million.Vietnam posted an export value of € 660.4 million from the French market, while it spent only € 187 million on importing products in the first ten months of this year.Two-way trade between the two countries reached € 948 million with French exporters enjoying a trade surplus of € 24 million last year.
