HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (Jan 4) – Blomson International and Batavus have reached an agreement on the take-over of former Batavus MTB brand, Be-One. Blomsom International, active since 1991 with brands such as Montego and Electra, was interested in the Be-One brand for it’s international appeal. Maurice Blom, owner of Blomson: “There was an obvious need for a brand that would cover a collection of cross hybrids, MTB’s, BMX and road bikes. Be-One is a brand that fits well with our existing range, and gives us many opportunities to fulfil our international ambition”, Blomson will supply the current collection until the next season. The coming range will be adapted and expanded. Main focus will be on bikes between €399 and €1199. Mid-2006, a new Team-line Pro series will be introduced. Be-One is the main sponsor of the successful mountain bike team MerlanDuo-Be-One. Blomson is currently examining the possibility of continuing the sponsorship.
