HOLZKIRCHEN-FÖCHING, Germany (Feb 8) – Specialized founder and president Mike Sinyard and company representative Ned Overend presented a book on the 25th anniversary of the first mountainbike in series production, the Stumpjumper. Occasion was the opening of the new Specialized marketing headquarters Central Europe. Now based in Holzkirchen-Föching south of Munich, the European marketing division has moved from Holland to Germany. The new location is more central in Europe – and: closer to the mountains. Logistics will remain in ‘s Heerenberg (NL). Paul Pigmans, sales and marketing for the Dutch market will also stay in the Netherlands.

The new European marketing headquarters is located in a former farmhouse. Office, show- and meeting-rooms occupy a total of some 300 square meter. Right across the street is a warehouse for POS material and displays as well as a range of test bikes. Specialized’s SBCU dealer lectures – “SBCU” stands for “Specialized Bicycle Components University” – will also be held in Holzkirchen.

The marketing headquarters Specialized central Europe employs seven people. (JB)
