MANCHESTER, UK – Bicycle maker Tandem today announced It will close the UK production line for Falcon. Tandem owns the Dawes bike business and Falcon, which claims to be the UK’s oldest volume bicycle maker with a history spanning more than 120 years.

MANCHESTER, UK  – Bicycle maker Tandem today announced It will close the UK production line for Falcon. Tandem owns the Dawes bike business and Falcon, which claims to be the UK’s oldest volume bicycle maker with a history spanning more than 120 years. Brands include Shogun, British Eagle, Optima and Claud Butler and its ranges cover mountain bikes and specialist lightweight racing machines to BMX bikes. Falcon has been outsourcing for some time but some high-end bikes were still assembled in the UK. Some 40 employees could be made redundant.
