Ariadne Delon Scott to Lead Green Team at Specialized

MORGAN HILL, US- Ariadne Delon Scott, on board with Specialized in a variety of important roles for the past 7-years, has been promoted to take on a new role, Director of Advocacy and the Environment for the company. As part of her new position, Scott will take on the development and implementation of Specialized’s global green action plan and integrate it into the company’s culture, environment, products, marketing and communication.

"At Specialized we know that we have a duty to preserve and protect our precious planet and promote healthy lifestyles," says Delon Scott. "While we’ve done a lot of green efforts over the years, there is no better time than now to formally begin our push to make a difference both in our neighborhood and through our dealers around the world", stated Delon Scott.

Delon Scott’s efforts are already paying off: Specialized recently launched a new Tire Recycling Program that turns worn bicycle treads into floor mats for shops, reinvigorated the Specialized Commute Club, which encourages employees to bicycle or carpool to work, and the company recently received 2006 Sustainable Quality Award from the City of Morgan Hill, California, for committing to demonstrate stewardship for environmental and economic sustainability and social responsibility.

Green actions include creating a green footprint for dealers to adopt that would encourage them to reduce, reuse, recycle and promote ecological practices at their workplace as well as benchmarking best practices outside our industry.

"This is just a first step on the long road to make a difference in all the markets we serve," stated Mike Sinyard, Founder and President for Specialized. "Ariadne is the best choice for this role demonstrated by her past commitments to advocacy efforts for the company."
