Sturmey-Archer News For 2009

Demand for fixed wheel bikes has increased in recent years, particularly in major cities. Some help climbing steep hills would be appreciated by ‘fixie’ riders and the new type S3X answers that demand. The new hub has two lower gears, 25% and 37.5% below direct drive.

The epicyclical gear system is encased in a cold-forged aluminium alloy shell. This shell will be also available in anodised colours to allow customisation of the bike. There are two new gear controls: a bar-end shifter to suit race-type bars and a ‘tummy’ gear lever for straight bars and seat-tube fitment.

The S3X will be available at the beginning of 2009. More product news of Sunrace Sturmey-Archer will be published in the February 09 issue of Bike Europe.
