Of course that option is the top. But bringing colours into chains is one to the three main new functions on which KMC has concentrated for its MY 2010 range. The other two are lightweight and upgrading the durability of the chains.
To start with colours; already over ten years ago KMC offered the first coloured chains. As the emphasis in bikes is now and for the coming years again on colours, the bike chain specialist offers all sorts of varieties of its single, multi-speed and lightweight chains in colours. Single colours, two-tone, with all kinds of colours in one chain named Rainbow chain and flag colours in one chain. All colours are made by Pantone number. This wide range underlines KMC’s ambition which is to be leading in colour offerings.
As said; the other focus point for the MY 2010 range is lightweight. For that KMC 9 and 10 speeds chains have been carefully scrutinized for every gram there was to safe. This has resulted in the fact that these two KMC chains are now leading in their class.
2010 focus point number three is durability. For that KMC re-evaluated the materials and the construction used in its chains and has upgraded the used alloy’s. Next to that the rollers efficiency have been examined and increased for an even better shifting performance as well as a longer chain life.
KMC has won some major award in 2008. Its X-SL gold chain helped Sabine Spitz to win the female MTB gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games! Every cyclist — professional and amateur — is able to benefit for the same KMC qualities in superior durability and lightweight performance. KMC’s chain connecting link named ‘safe link’ has won the 2009 German iF product design award as well.
