Oxford Acquires Sprint CPA

OXFORDSHIRE, UK – Oxford Products Ltd has purchased cycle parts supplier Sprint CPA in a move to strengthen and expand its business.
Oxford was established in 1973 in the motorcycle industry by current chairman Alec Hammond and by the mid eighties had begun to supply a range of bicycle products direct to retailers. Its range has expanded significantly over the years but remains limited to universal products such as locks, luggage, helmets, lighting, reflective clothing and a handful of accessories, which it now supplies to the trade through a
national network of wholesalers.
Sprint CPA was established in 1990 by John Lambden with the simple objective of supplying the UK cycle wholesale network with the countless parts and bolt on accessories required on a daily basis by cycle shops.
Objective achieved, Lambden hands over a thriving business which boasts all the key products and is today an essential partner for the cycle trade. “Combining Oxford’s universal, consumer focused product range with Sprint’s wider parts portfolio makes complete sense”, explains Oxford’s Managing Director Andrew Hammond. “We can essentially provide the wholesale network with the majority of the products they require to service the cycle trade”.
Sprint’s operations have been moved over to an expanded Oxford distribution facility and supply will continue as before, uninterrupted. The combined business will be steered by Oxford’s cycle guru and
industry veteran, Martin Sykes. “It will be business as usual for our customers, albeit with more profit opportunities than ever before”, is the reassuring message from Sykes. “Orders previously placed with
Sprint will simply be placed with Oxford and invoices will have our name at the top, instead of Sprint’s”.
