WALDERSHOF, Germany – On 20 October German Cube Bikes celebrated that the construction of the roof of the new logistics center was completed. The new 8,000 m² warehouse with a 40,000 bin locations capacity will be officially opened by the end of November.
Given the rapid growth of Cube Bikes it was, according to founder and senior GM Siegfried Pürner, extremely urgent to incorporate a new logistics center. For that reason it was built in only seven months.
To give an idea about the company’s growth: In 2003 Cube had an output of 36,000 bicycles. In 2009 this number stood at 186,000 units. 80% of Cube’s business used to be made with Mountainbikes; nowadays the company offers 150 different models and employs 120 people.
Before the new logistics center was built in Waldershof – home of the company’s headquarters – Cube Bikes had two logistic centers in two different regions in Germany (Wiesau and Mitterteich).
For Pürner and his team the new building in Waldershof is also a clear commitment for this town as the best location for Cube Bikes. At the celebrations for completing the roof of the new building; he thanked all involved parties: “Without the help of all local governmental offices and representatives we would have never been able to build this in such a non-bureaucratically way and in such a short time.”
