SENNFELD, Germany – Her goal is clear; Susanne Puello (photo), Winora’s MD, sets out to become a pioneer in electric bikes in Germany. To achieve this objective the Winora Group started a R&D partnership with the JD Group, manufacturer of TranzX PST e-Bike components as well as complete electric bicycles.
The Winora Group, part of Accell Group and one of the leading bike companies in Germany that operates the brands Winora, Staiger, HaiBike, Sinus, Bikespace, Bavaria and XLC, recently visited one of the JD Group facilities in China with a group of 30 dealers. The dealer-trip was a reward for the successful e-Bike season of 2010. Here the Winora dealers were able to first hand see JD’s TranzX PST production.
All dealers were impressed by the neat and modern state-of-the-art factory which could be ‘exemplary for a lot of German companies’, as one of the Winora dealers remarked.
For MD Puello the visit to JD underlined the excellent collaboration between the two companies. She said: “Meanwhile a partnership in R&D has manifested itself which contributes to an important advantage for Winora and sets us apart from the competition in terms of quality and innovation.” The 2011 Winora e-Bike series comes with a specially built frame and exclusive technologies.
“Moreover, Winora wants to become a pioneer in the e-Bike market and leading in innovation through a close cooperation with the JD Group”, continued Puello. “Our aim is to approach new market segments and appeal to a younger customer base for the e-Bike.”
