MALLABIA, Spain – The Basque company Orbea has reached an agreement with the triathlon brand from New Zealand Orca through which it acquires the global distribution rights for the triathlon and compression garment market. After a fruitful relation of four years, the Basque brand took the next step with the acquisition of a licensing agreement of the compresion garments for which Orca is the benchmark. Orbea, who is already the global distributor of high end neoprene suits, strategy is to become market leader on the triathlon sports market.

Orbea and Orca started their business relationship four years ago when Orbea became the world-wide exclusive distributor of neoprene wetsuits of the New Zealand brand. After reaching this agreement, Orbea began to supply triathlon clothes to its authorized distributors worldwide.

The positive results obtained from this relation made it possible for Orbea to take further steps entering the triathlon market. The acquisition of the distribution rights in the triathlon and compression garment market serves to reaffirm Orbea´s commitment to triathlon. Both companies claim that this agreement stengthens their images on their way to become a benchmark in the triathlon world.
