Marwi Moves Towards Mid to Hi-End Levels in Pedals, Saddles and Lighting

TAICHUNG, Taiwan – Without neglecting its entry-level product lines Marwi is making an all-out effort towards mid to hi-end levels for its pedals, saddles and lighting components. For that the company is opening three new production facilities in Taichung, Taiwan.

The first facility is to start full scale production by July, 2011. The other two ‘stations’ will come online later in the year and beginning 2012. The new facilities are on a 2,000m² plot which Marwi CEO Patrick Pai bought already three years ago.

At the new facilities Marwi plans to install a highly automated production with, among others, alloy injection die-casting machinery. Here more mid to hi-end pedals, saddles and lighting components are to be produced. The company also plans to upgrade its own production and to limit the amount of semi-finished products it gets from subcontractors.

The highly automated production in Taiwan will also bring more mid to hi-end components in Marwi core product lines; pedals, saddles and lighting. Next to that the component maker also plans to extend its private label production and to expand into other product ranges.
