Velo Launches Wild Cats Awareness Campaign

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Saddle manufacturer Velo Enterprise is partnering with South African Airlines, South African Tourism, bike magazine aktiv Radfahren and conservation organization Panthera, to launch an effort that supports the preservation of wild cats. The Senso Wildlife campaign, which will initially run throughout Germany, will raise awareness for this cause through advertising, media, internet and in bicycle shops. A sweepstakes, in which two winners will be given a trip to South Africa, will further pique interest for the initiative. Throughout the promotional period, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Senso saddles are designated for the conservation organization Panthera, a leader in advancing global actions to preserve wild cats. Today the number of wild cats living in their natural habitats is at its lowest level ever recorded.

Velo’s new ads for its Senso saddle line celebrate the majestic cheetah as a way of strengthening the public’s interest for the urgent need to preserve wildlife. While explaining the idea behind the campaign, Velo’s CEO Stella Yu emphasizes that, “It is part of our corporate responsibility to get involved and support a cause that helps give wild animals a better chance of survival.”

Velo and its partners have joined efforts to reach a wide audience for the Senso Wildlife campaign. The campaign is highlighted by a sweepstakes that offers two winners a chance to experience South Africa. As many of the world’s endangered species are native to South Africa, the geographical relevance and congruent goals of the partners make the Senso
Wildlife campaign a natural fit.

The campaign runs from April 15 to September 20 at participating retailers, the publication aktiv Radfahren, through diverse communication channels from South African Tourism and South African Airways, as well as various online and social media channels. It includes in-store posters and displays that offer people an opportunity to enter the drawing. Winners of the contest will earn a one week trip to South Africa including flights and hotels, and the unique opportunity to experience a range of different sights and highlights. Bike tours through the Winelands, a trip to the Garden Route Game Lodge and a glimpse into a cheetah conservation project are among the attractions that await the sweepstakes winners.

Aside from raising awareness about the need to protect wild cats in South Africa, Velo is making its own contribution to this cause through the sale of its Senso line of performance saddles. A portion of the proceeds from each Senso saddle will benefit Panthera (www.panthera.org).
