BBB Highlight Ergonomics for 2011 Handlebars and Saddles

For 2011 BBB has a clear focus on comfortable riding with new features for both their handlebars and saddles. The 7050 T6, double-butted RoundBar BHB-32 features a ‘compact drop’ design to reduce the difference between riding with hands on top of the bar or in the drops – from the usual 140-150mm to 120mm. BBB claims the difference makes riding in the drop position more comfortable. The RoundBar’s suggested retail price is €65.00. It is available in 40, 42 and 44 cm (center-to-center), is oversized (31.8 mm) for strength, stiffness and light weight. The 42 cm RoundBar weighs 240 grams.

The BHB-61SweepBar for mountain bikes also has specific ergonomic features. This handlebar is without rise, but with a 10 degree backsweep for a more comfortable riding position possible and increased control. The double-butted 6061 T6 aluminum SweepBar is oversized (31.8mm) with the 660 mm wide bar weighing 296 grams.

BBB’s high-end Razer saddle comes in four versions for 2011. All feature the company’s ComfortLite geometry and there’s a choice of competition or touring models (130mm and 140mm wide respectively) with or without anatomic cut-out. The saddles are designed with a long slim nose, short curve and low-weight, high density Superlight foam.

The round shape is designed to minimize leg contact in competitive rding positions. Abrasion-resistant Microtec fabric, carbon fiber reinforced shell and integrated bumper design combine strength, durability, and stiffness. BBB’s Razer series retails for €55.00 to €59.95. All models come in black or white.
