Velo Launches New Range of E-bike Saddles

Leading saddle maker Velo is well aware of the fact that the increasing focus on e-bikes also offers new demands and possibilities for component manufacturers to adjust their products to the consumer’s current needs. Velo continues to stay on the brink of such industry developments and the manufacturer now introduces new saddles in its current OEM range that are specifically manufactured for e-bikes.

A major aspect that Velo has recently been giving more attention to is the distance of bike rides with an e-bike. Cyclists tend to ride longer and further because they enjoy the support of an electric motor and can travel further with less effort. Add to this the fact that riders generally use their e-bikes for commuting purposes and it quickly becomes apparent that owners of e-bikes tend to spend a lot more time in the saddle than weekend riders.

Velo’s OEM range of comfort e-bike saddles includes four new models (VL 6220, VL 6221, VL 6230, VL 6231) that are specifically developed for extended e-bike rides. Featuring Velo’s patented Double Density (D2) base with rubber inserts in the sit bone area of the seat shell, these saddles provide additional comfort to the cyclist throughout the duration of the bike ride.

The flat, well supported sit-zone and the dented area create less saddle contact and the central channel of the saddle ensures optimal temperature regulation. The constant ventilation also reduces the chance of ‘sticking’ to the bicycle seat when the cyclist wants to dismount. The cyclist’s comfort is also improved by Velo’s patented ArcTech suspension, which keeps the rail insertion points from directly touching the seat shell.

By incorporating this technology into Velo’s e-bike saddle range, shocks from the road are absorbed and evenly dispersed throughout the outer ArcTech construction.
