Koga Wins ‘Grand Slam’ in Design Awards
Koga completed a series of design awards by winning two Red Dot Design Awards 2012 for outstanding product design. Awarded were again the Koga WorldTraveller29 and the Koga SuperMetro: two new models that had already been successful in the previous months:
HEERENVEEN, the Netherlands – Koga completed a series of design awards by winning two Red Dot Design Awards 2012 for outstanding product design. Awarded were again the Koga WorldTraveller29 and the Koga SuperMetro: two new models that had already been successful in the previous months:
- 1. Eurobike Gold Award 2011/2012 (WorldTraveller29)
- 2. Dutch Bike of the Year 2012 (WorldTraveller29)
- 3. iF Product Design Gold Award 2012 (SuperMetro)
- 4. Red Dot Design Award 2012 (WorldTraveller29 and SuperMetro)

The Koga WorldTraveller29 and SuperMetro convinced the international jury of the “Red Dot Award: product design 2012”. After an evaluation process, it received the coveted awards, assigned by a 30-member expert jury. Creative heads and manufacturers from all over the world had submitted 4,515 designs altogether to the renowned product competition. With its high design quality, these Koga models could inspire the experts. They received the globally sought-after red dot for its fine design language.
The Red Dot Design award
The red dot design award, whose origins reach back to the 1950s, is carried out in three disciplines: the “Red Dot Award: product design”, the “Red Dot Award: communication design” and the “red dot award: design concept”. In 2011 alone, more than 14,000 entries from over 70 countries were registered. The award – the Red Dot – has established itself internationally as one of the most appreciated quality seals for outstanding designs.
