AEG is making its debut at Eurobike. Better said the company Bike Solutions GmbH is presenting drive systems under the AEG brand name in Friedrichshafen. Bike Solution has obtained licensee rights for using this brand name. The company is launching two drive systems for e-bikes at Eurobike.
Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. is also coming to Friedrichshafen for the first time this year. And it is a much needed one as the number of reliable battery suppliers for electric bikes is still too low.

Two drive systems
Bike Solutions and AEG enter the e-bike sector at Eurobike 2012 with two drive systems; one is a central motor system while under the AEG brand name also a rear hub motor and all that goes with it is introduced. The central motor system is equipped with a silent and maintenance free disc motor (central motor concept), which does not require its own interface on the frame and waives the extended wheelbase. One of the new technology´s advantages is e.g. the possibility to mount a rear wheel hub with coaster brake without any additional technical requirements or adjustments.

Rear motor
According to Bike Solutions – AEG, its rear motor system uses a new manufacturing technology, which enables a significantly smaller diameter compared to existing rear motors and in addition improves the efficiency. The bike specific parameters remain unchanged. Both drive systems can be operated with a carrier or downtube battery. A display, which is controlled through a remote control developed by haptic experts, rounds off both systems in a trendy smartphone look. The first bikes with the disc motor drive system will be available in bicycle stores starting from the middle of 2013. The rear motor model will follow shortly after. The Bike Solutions – AEG-eBike booth at the Eurobike is in Hall A6-105.

Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. is presenting itself and its line-up of batteries for electric bikes and e-scooters at the Zeppelin Hall booth 205 at the 2012 Eurobike Show. Further details on what exactly will be on show is not yet available. But that there will be an extensive choice of batteries in all kinds of materials, Volts and Ah is very likely.
